But God. . .

We live in strange times. What was once abhorrent and perverted is now cool and courageous. That which was good is now evil and that which was evil is now normal. Truth is now racist, homophobic, and hateful. Truth is whatever I identify as truth in the deepest recesses of my own heart. There is nothing outside of me that is true. Every man is free to choose his own truth unless of course that truth should be carried upon the hated shoulders of absolute moral rectitude whereupon one is relegated to the catacombs with the leper -– despised and reviled, deemed unworthy to speak by the gods of a new generation who sit high upon their thrones of self-determination, spewing the venom of rejection and cancellation, and enforced compliance –– while the banners of diversity and tolerance hang impotently over their heads; forgotten virtues that have been overwhelmed by group-speak and enforced by self-appointed thought police.

A nation that was birthed by God through principled men who did not always agree, but sought to conduct themselves with civility and honor. No, civil discourse has been slain by slander and intellectual intercourse murdered by spit and spittle. The vile sin of one race standing on the necks of another has moved from the plantation to the sterile environments of an operating suite and the racial sin of slavery has been set aside for generational homicide. We put lipstick on it, dab upon it the make-up of women’s rights. We changed the name. It’s not murder, it is choice. It’s not a baby, it’s a clump of cells . . . some would even call it a parasite. We first dehumanized the negro to justify his subjugation and now, we have dehumanized our own children to justify our collective narcissism.

Parents are now domestic terrorists if they object to the sexualization of their 3rd graders.

Those who would defend innocent life are deemed to be a threat to democracy and the American way of life.

The conspiracy of the princes in her midst is like a roaring lion tearing its prey. They devour the people, seize the treasures and precious things, and multiply the widows within her.

Her priests do violence to My law and profane My holy things. They make no distinction between the holy and the common, and they fail to distinguish between the clean and the unclean. They disregard My Sabbaths so that I am profaned among them.

Her officials within her are like wolves tearing their prey, shedding blood, and destroying lives for dishonest gain.

Her prophets whitewash these deeds by false visions and lying divinations, saying, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says,’ when the LORD has not spoken.

The people of the land have practiced extortion and committed robbery. They have oppressed the poor and needy and have exploited the foreign resident without justice.

I searched for a man among them to repair the wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, so that I should not destroy it. But I found no one. So I have poured out My indignation upon them and consumed them with the fire of My fury. I have brought their ways down upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.” (Ezekiel 22:25-31)

The weight of our sin rests heavily upon the neck of our nation and the burden of our wickedness crushes our national soul. Our politicians are like wolves in our midst and the vomit of an apostate priesthood covers our pulpits. Our heroes are criminals and our gods are whoremongers and yet. . . and yet there are two words that fill my heart with hope in the midst of our political and spiritual darkness.

“But God . . . “

Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah: The earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of God: even Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel. (Psalm 68:1-8).
